2.0 A4 Tdi, 170hp, 2010.

Does anyone have - or know - what the glow plug light means when the engine is running.

Glow plug light comes on around 2000rpm when accelerating (hard or not) and the engine is cold, then goes off as revs increase. Maybe only on for a second or 2 as revs go up. Could just be that its trying to heat up the cylinder, but knowing they are diagnostic codes would rather be sure. Once up to temp it stays off. No other issues other than it was very lumpy when running hard from cold (I know, I know, but work goes straight onto duel carriageway), which has been improved with service and I think now its warmer it prefers it too.

Thanks in advance.

I had heard that about earlier models, but didnt know if that was true for 2008+ models.

Why does it do so only at certain revs on a cold engine then? Doesnt make much sense to me.

Pretty sure its telling you the car is going into limp home mode briefly for an error, ours did this a while ago and the code logged was egr valve related.
