Hi bit of help please. First time Audi buyer.
I am considering a highish spec S1 5door for the wife. It lists at £32.5K on the Audi website. How much discount should I be looking for? I pay cash (dinosaur I know).
Not tied to any dealer as I live on the Isle of Man and we don't have an Audi dealer.
Any good dealer suggestions? Will travel for a good deal.
Thanks

Broadspeed are offering £3k discount on the base model. I recently ordered a new car through Stockport Audi, quoted Broadspeeds price and they matched it without any haggling.

Just to add though, you may need to take out finance to get the contribution but this can be paid off after a fortnight or so, depends on any offers they are doing at the time.

For £32 I would be looking Golf R or Focus RS

That wasn't actually a piss take comment, I was deadly serious! These actually have a list of £33k? Anyone who would consider that good value needs a taking too..

I'm guessing you own a VW in glitter then?

No longer own a BMW, despite what my garage says Sherlock wink

Why would they need a good talking to?

Does it matter what other people spend their money on?

Anyway, I didnt actually look in your garage but I'm assuming it was good guess?

And yes, I own a vw van for work and a BMW for weekend/any other time use.

Thanks for that much appreciated. It gives me a good starting point for my haggling.

Similar spec Golf R is £40K! And she doesn't need the space. Focus is good value but it's still a bloody Ford and the drift functionality isn't much use on the way to Marks&Sparks!

I've got a deposit down on an M2 for her but no delivery date, just lots of weak promises and no action. First one at my dealer allegedly. Might save £20K and get the S1

There are good discounts on Golf R too BigM. It won't be 40k. Bigger car than the S1 which I'm sure you know and size may matter to your wife. The car I mean smile

Happily, OP mentioned nothing about value. Simply asked how much discount he could expect on the car he wants.

My friend has an A1. Always surprised how little they are! Mind, she's absolutely tiny too! The S1 is a lovely car.

Mine was ordered late 14" with most options ticked - best deals at the moment seem to be via finance (sales staff bonus reliant on finance based deals), although far less off than you would get off an R or S3 (which suits me as I paid cash). Much more fun than the Golf R and S3 imo and see far less on the road (5x as many s3's on road), can make 320bhp with just a map!

M2 would be a bigger outlay but I would guess better residuals if the market isn't flooded with them. Thinking that or RS3 as my next move!

wont make much difference, my OH refused point blank to have a golf GTi / R but loves her polo GTi as they are too big

go figure
