Clutch slipping 1.9 TDI mk4
Discussion
Okay, so clutch is slipping very badly indeed! Drivable merely for loading purposes.
So box off, clutch off -- but friction plate actually looks pretty good!! Not even worn down to rivets - not even close. Pressure plate looks a little burnt (blued). The slave cylinder and release bearing are okay in that the clutch fully disengages with no crunching etc.
Is flywheel the likely culprit then?
It's a DMF.
Rocking center bit side to side didn't really see what i'd consider excess play/movement.
BUT the center bit - the bit with the lugs on - I can spin that 360degress independently to the ring gear part of the flywheel. Is this normal?
So in the pictures i've uploaded, where i'm pointing I use the log to rotate that art of the flywheel all the way round..
If this is normal then what's most likely cause of the slipping ???
Thanks guys
