mk5 golf - took 12v feed from interior light, now stuck on
Discussion
Hoping someone has done this before, Installing a dashcam to the OH's car, thought I'd be clever and take a 12v feed from the interior lights, thus the camera would be on from the moment the car was unlocked.
Cut a long story short, with the camera connected the voltage dropped to 5v, realised this wouldn't work, disconnected camera and wired into ciggy lighter instead.
Problem now is, the interior lights are permanently on with ignition & do not fade up when unlocked (just come straight on)
After a bit of faffing (lights on, ignition on/off, lock/unlock several times, all works fine, but then leave it locked for a while and it goes back to always on mode
I've had to disconnect the lights in the roof as a tempoary fix, and a bit of research suggests the CCM? module is fooked (guessing I've fried a transistor/capacitor or something inside it.
If this is the case, is it just a simple swap over, or do they need to be programmed to the car?
Thanks in advance!
