Morning all.

I've recently picked up a 64 plate 1.2 litre TSI 90ps 3 door Polo.

I have to say, really pleased with my purchase and glad I made the move.. however, whilst I'm impressed with the sound quality of the standard 6x speaker stereo system, I'd like a little more bass.

I don't want the hassle of having to replace the head unit as it is 'plumbed' in with the rest of cars on board computers / steering wheel controls etc... but does anyone know if adding a small sub to the standard head unit is possible ?

I thought I'd ask on here first before going back to VW dealership.

Thanks in advance.

Don't bother going to the dealership, they'll just say no.

There are some decent self powered sealed sub units available on the market. Some are quite small and are designed to go under the front seats. I'd try a local car audio shop.

Thanks for the response, I already have a sub with attached amp for boot ( from my previous car) but really just need to know whether or not the standard head unit has the AUX output RCA connections available?

Cheers

I doubt a standard factory head unit would have any RCA pre outs but stereo shops can tap into the speaker outs directly and hook up a powered sub from that.

A quick google suggests it hasn't got pre-outs, something like this should work though https://www.amazon.co.uk/Car-Audio-High-Line-Conve... not sure on how good that particular one is, it was the first one to pop up in my search
