How to check the spec of a VW....?

Is there a way of checking the delivery spec (of an old v6 4motion as it happens) online? I realise you can go to a VW dealership but that's alot of hassle/potentially wears a bit thin if you have to do it more than twice etc etc.

You need a pic of the sticker from the service book or the boot like this (pic borrowed from google)



each of the 3 digit codes on the bottom half of the sticker translates to the spec of the car

eg 3FE = Electric slide/tilt sunroof with sun screen/sunblind
