Im going to get the c6 s6 box serviced. from what i recall its a sump gasket, sump plug washer, oil and filter job? there is of course the specific temp and filling procedure right? anything else apart from not skimping on decent oil with the right spec? what should it cost me with a good indy?

Heres a good guide - http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=27...

Its not an easy job as you need to monitor the internal temps via VagCom so the correct equipment is essential.

There are a number of different variants of box , some have a replaceable filter, some don't.

You're looking at between £400-600 (depending on the box and garage) as the fluid is £30/L and it takes 9L

I'd be tempted to find a ZF agent rather than an Audi indy as a lot will never have done the job. Audi prescribe no oil change.

Do you think its a worthwhile exercise Dr G?

Having checked the ZF website it turns out one of the 6 agents in the UK is very close to home for me and as my S6 is approaching 100k miles i have found myself thinking about it.

Audi state 'lifetime', i.e. when it blows up.

ZF, who make the box, state 80k.
