Skoda Fabia Crunching 3rd and 4th and clunky 2nd

I've googled my problem and tried the fixes suggested but no joy.

Skoda Fabia 1.2 on '04 with 60k miles. When its cold the gearchange is fine but once hot after about 20 or so minutes of driving 2nd gets notchy and 3rd/4th need either a good shove with a small crunch or a double declutch to get them in,

So far I have realigned the gearshift mechanism/cables and also had a new clutch fitted but its still the same.

Is this new gearbox time ? Any suggestions welcome at this point .

I would try an oil change first but possibly syncromesh on 2nd and 3rd is worn. Seems to be a common problem if you search for "vw crunch when warm" using google. It's not a new box though you can get yours rebuilt if it is the syncro that's to blame
