Hi,

My 2013 Leon FR 2.0 TDI 150bhp is due its second (longlife service) at 37k miles - I have spoken to a couple of local dealers for a quote, one is saying the Diesel Fuel Filter (£57) and Pollen Filter (£32) are required - I can't see anything in my service schedule saying these are required, are they pulling my leg or are they actually required (they say it should be done at 40k miles).

This will probably be the last service with SEAT while the car is under warranty.

On my mk6 golf 2.0 tdi the pollen filter was included on at least one of the major services (not long life though) and I don't recall ever seeing the fuel filter replaced on the invoice

If those filter items are needed they should be included in the fixed cost of the service. Wouldn't be expecting to pay more than £200 - £250 in total.

If it was me I would be replacing them for piece of mind, pretty sure a pollen filter isn't £32 from TPS mind you. Not 100% sure where it is on the MK3 but can be a DIY job.

Thanks for the responses, I've booked the car in now and there was no mention of the fuel filter but they did pick up the pollen filter, having researched it the filter is £10 and looks like a DIY job located behind the glove box...

Think the fuel filter should be a DIY job too if I feel I need it...
