Audi A6 LED lamp swop
Discussion
Hi, I'm looking for some assistance here.
I've got a 2011 Audi A6 Avant S-Line Special Edition 4F model 3.0 TDi Quattro, the one after the Le Mans edition.
I changed the Fog lamp and main beam bulbs to LED, using dedicated resistors, all purchased from eBay, to stop the Can Bus errors on the dash. The fogs are fine, but the left hand main beam still sends the error message, strangely, if I flash main beam for 10-15 seconds, it goes out and stays out, until I switch the ignition off then back on again, when it returns.
The Main beam bulbs are 100 watt H7 equivalents, wired to a 50 watt 6 ohm resistor.
I find it odd that it's only the left hand lamp which gives the error, not both.
Have I fitted the wrong wattage bulbs or is the resistor incorrect, is there something else I need to do/fit to counteract this?
Thanks in advance for any help.

The bulbs themselves were not error free, which is why I fitted the resistors. The right hand one works fine. Funnily enough, I had a similar problem on my 2003 A4, when I fitted a HID kit, left light showing an error, not the right. Im wondering if there is an issue with Audi wiring.?
One thing I can try, is to swop them from one side to the other, to see if the error follows the bulb/resistor or stays on the left side.
If it stays on the left, then I need to speak to a competent auto electrician to see if there is a cure. If not, then the resistor is at fault.

Just to add my few pence worth for what its worth.
In my 2012 Leon with xenon's (factory) I changed the 501 sidelights to LED to look more aligned to the xenon, I constantly got RH error, i changed bulb added resistors and still didn't resolve it, I changed back to normal ones.
DRL I did the same and not had any issues, I did buy these from HID direct though, they have been in for 3 years and never had an issue.
It may well be the complicated VAG group Canbus systems :-(
