Skoda radio antenna broken off by fat fingered teenage son
Discussion
My teenage son has a skoka octavia estate and was brave enough to replace the CD changer port in the original Skoda Radio for an AUX cable for his MP3
He got that working fine so all credit to him and mr youtube.
However as he was putting my stereo back in, he dropped a screw and had to fish it out of the stereo.
As he got the screw out, he heard a small click sound and realised the tip of the radio antenna that goes into the back of the stereo had broken off.
In certain positions, if held the radio will work and pick up signal but generally the car has no radio now ..which is boring when you dont have traffic info
Any suggestions of what to do (other than cut his fat fingers off)

Your photo link doesn't work.
If it's like most VW group standard head units though, they use Fakra connectors for the antenna connection. Pain in the arse to replace even with the right crimp tools. I should know as the previous owner of my Golf butchered the antenna connectors on that.
Post up a working photo and i'll see if I can help you out.
If he's actually fitted a cheap touchscreen headunit from eBay just be aware most of those Chinese one's have really poor FM reception even with a decent antenna.
