Emerald k6 running a 1.8t golf engine

Evening there,
Im currently getting all things together to 'big turbo' my engine over the winter period, its currently a agu block with k03s turbo set up. I want to do away with the old oem ecu and use the new k6 ecu system. I'm converting it to wideband lambda for tuning reasons and ordered a map sensor too. All this is totally new to me and have been going along with purely advice from other 1.8t owners, i understand that once i have a map sensor and wideband, that i can do away with the old maf sensor, is that correct? And can any of you good people recommend a good book to learn the operation of new modern engine control side of things, how all the sensors and components run the engine.
