Should I buy an Audi R8 V10 with 5 previous owners? I've found an Audi R8 V10 with low mileage, but the downfall is in the fact that it has 5 previous owners. The car is 6 years old however, and my plan is on keeping it a long time so it hopefully appreciated one day to the level I paid for it. Is 5 owners too much, do I need a 1/2 owner car for the car to be worth a decent amount in the future 5/10 years?

When it's 10 years old it will only be 2 a year if you are keeping it that long.

That's a fair few owners but why do you think a V10 R8 will appreciate in value over the next few years....I can only see the value of these only going one way especially with the new model.

I don't think the number of owners is that big a deal, what did worry me was the £8k cost for replacing a clutch.

Search on here for the chap that didn't like the sound of it and did it himself, all pictures included - great thread!

Current R8 significantly better looking than the old one too imho. Another reason for the old one to lose value? Tbf though it will always be a V10 R8 so once at a certain level presumably will stay there.

Some are of the opinion that the early V10's have already hit rock-bottom price wise.

Yup, they seem to be holding firm at the moment too.

If the car is nice and properly maintained then go for it (as an owner a year is very common in this part of the market).

Yeah I wouldn't be that surprised by the number of owners on this sort of car. People will buy it just as a toy then move it on after a few months, perhaps after experiencing the running costs! tongue out

Costs are fairly sensible generally but it's definitely a 'toy' purchase.

Like a lot of people around here will do, it'll get moved on after a year for a different plaything.
