The wheels on our Touareg are quite tatty and need a full refurb. From memory a decent refurb is over £100 a wheel and it takes time.

I was s think a similar option could just be new wheels. I've seen a few (not sure about the designs yet) but could then just have the local tyre place swap the tyres over for £50. No downtime without the car then. Paying a bit more for convinience is ok !

Any recommendations on 19" alloys for a black Touareg ?

I'd refurb the wheels aftermarket at that price will be ste and look rubbish. Most wheel places can do same day turn around so no real downtime. Some can even lend you spare wheels while yours are refurbed

Another way to go is to get a 2nd hand set of wheels for it with winter tyres (which I did - mine has the 20" diamond cut ones for the summer & another set of 19"'s from another Touareg for the winter), saves the nice wheels for the summer & you can get them refurbed at your leisure - I tidied the winter wheels up with a couple of coats of plastidip, they came up well & survived last winter including a trip to the Alps.
