Got a hankering for an adult Tonka toy, but I don't know much about these.

What's the potential borkage / wallet damage ratio on this thing?

Anyone know?

Had an 86 90q, a few Ur q's including 20v and then a LHD A4 tdi, but not that big boat above!

Chocolate cams, air suspension issues and major engineering works to change the clutch. One of these turned a regular audi customer to Volvo permanently.

Later 2.5 (like in your link) is much improved although by modern standards it isn't quick or economical. Belts every 5 years at 6-700 quid is a bit of a pinch.

The 5 speed tiptronic is generally fine.

Suspension problems are when rather than if although you can mitigate costs with refurbished parts and buying from somewhere like air suspension shop rather than Audi direct.

Still a capable, comfortable, distinctive car.

Looks very dated, but I guess most new Audis do too.
