Audi A3 1.4 TFSI
Discussion
Hi all,
I've currently got a Mk5 Golf 1.4 FSI as my first car. Its great but poor on fuel (28mpg city) and lacks power.
I'm thinking of getting the 1.4 TFSI 122bhp Audi A3; due to insurance I can't really go for anything bigger or better. I'm hoping the A3 has better mpg and torque so I don't need to rev it out as much. Whats your thoughts? Any problems with the tfsi?
Thanks in advance.

I ran a Leon with the same engine for a year or so. It would average late 20s MPG on short urban runs, and late 30s/ early 40s on longer drives. Seemed ok performance for a car that size but not particularly sporty. Got rid of it due to poor reliability as the timing chain needed replacing shortly followed by the turbo. Replaced with a Mk5 GTI which was a much better car in every possible way and only a tiny bit less economical!
