Hi

Visited a VW main dealer last week. Transpires unable to order a new Mk 7 or 'Mk 7.5', is that any way to run a business. Dealer has no clarification when the position will be resolved!!

Use your brain, there must be a reason, bringing out a new model maybe?

I just enquired about a replacement for my R which is due to go back in April & all he would say is "that the facelift is due Q1 2017. Exactly when and which models is still unknown at the moment".

.....in reality of course he knows when it will be available he just can't say yet.

Thanks Russ H, you have restored my faith in PHer's, the earlier comment to my original...and first post was hardly an encouraging start.
May I ask why you are maybe moving from a Golf R, it is on my radar too?

End of lease I`m guessing.

Anyway, the Golf 7 has just been facelifted hasn`t it? I`m also guessing that VW dealers are in the dark as to when the mk7.5 will be arriving. I`m also guessing prices haven`t been finalised yet.

Have you called around other dealers?

Yep, end of lease.
Depending on costs and spec, will probably go for another R

I had similar last week with my local VW dealer, expressed interest in a new R but they weren't helpful at all. So yet another factor swinging me towards the BMW 1-series instead...

Not working in the trade, I can't say for sure but it may be with the pre facelift version coming to end of production that some dealers still have an allocation while others don't. I seem to recall when purchasing mine something being said about dealer allocation in relation to build slots. It is still possible to spec the current pre facelift version on the VW website and they are still offering a deposit version if bought using PCP.

As for when the facelift becomes available, it may be that the dealers don't have the information yet, but you can register interest here by the look of things... http://www.volkswagen.co.uk/newgolf.

Wrong! Volkswagen have only told us it's going to be available for order in Q1 2017.

Thanks all. May go for a few months old Mk 7, or just wait for the facelift ''7.5'' model.

"that the facelift is due Q1 2017. Exactly when and which models is still unknown at the moment" - is copy and paste from the VW dealer who supplied my R
