VW DasWelt warranty / indie servicing?
Discussion
Hi
Earlier this year I bought an approved 59 plate Polo from a VW garage as a runaround with the 1 year DasWelt approved used warranty.
The car is now due a service and I will save around £100 going to a local competent Indie rather than my local VW Garage.
Will I lose the remainder of my DasWelt warranty if I go to the Indie? Doesnt seem to be clear in the warranty booklet re the rule on where it needs to be serviced, although obviously it does need to be maintained.
Thanks!

I always thought with the DasWelt it had to go to a VW dealer, for the manufacturers it just had to go to a VAT registered company and use oem parts. VW dealers will usually price match if you can get the service done locally for cheaper so no risk of voiding the warranty if they will
DasWelt Warranty said:
Servicing must be carried out in accordance with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. Failure
to keep your vehicle serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s service schedule will void this
MOT Cover. You must keep all servicing receipts and invoices. We will be entitled to check that your
vehicle has been serviced regularly and may ask to see these in the event of a claim

So looks like indie servicing is fine to me
Sorry OP but I can't get my head round this, as you would've paid a premium to buy an Approved Used one so why skimp on the servicing
Assuming it does have a full VW Service history I would say that's worth maintaining, but worth ringing round a few dealers to see who's cheapest as they generally price match each other.
