Hey guys. Tricky one to describe but my Mk1 LCR has a sort of washboard noise (like running something wooden up an old washboard) when accelerating from a stand still, I think coming from the passenger side. It goes away with any sort of speed (25mph+) but I'm not sure what it is! I thought it might be the CV joint but before I start replacing things I thought I'd ask if anyone else has had a similar issue.

My mother's Citroen C4 makes a similar noise and has done for a long time, so at least I'm not going crazy, but it bothers me.

Thanks!

Check the glovebox - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e...

And also check the tyres for embedded objects.

I had something similar on my LCR, it turned out to be a ball joint or something down that way, it was a good 6 years ago so cant remember exactly i'm sorry, I didn't believe them as it sounded nothing like a ball joint, but it caused some rubbing with the ARB, once fixed £55 if i recall it never happened again

I used to experience this with my MK1 LCR and it was the rear tyres and would get worse the more they wore. It's called treadstepping and some tyres are more prone to it than others.
