Amazed to find that renewing roadside assistance for 3 year old car by debit card not credit card added a £10 surcharge. Only continuous payment authority gets headline rate. They must put a price/ revenue estimate on neglectful customers who forget to cancel when they sell the car. Unethical ?
Feedback to VW absolutely useless.. Won't renew again with them

I was amazed to find new VWs (I think apart from Touareg) only come with roadside cover for the first year.

Absolutely amazing isn't it!
Unless it's on a lease, then you get cover.
Poor show from VW

I was gobsmacked. We switched a SEAT to a VW and the SEAT had 5yrs cover.

Every other car in our family "fleet" came with 3yrs and then gets its assistance cover renewed with each service.

I really think VW misses a trick there - the cars do have Mobility cover if dealer serviced but it's very basic breakdown cover and VW don't advertise it at all. If they renewed the full assistance cover as others do then it would make dealer servicing more attractive.
