Golf MK6 TSI 122 - R CONVERSION. Thoughts on wheels?
Discussion
Due to my age i couldn't insure a 'real' Golf R.
So i bought a 2010 MK6 TSI 122 along with a full 'R' conversion kit. Bumpers, Skirts, DRLs ,Taillights and a custom exhaust. Remapped to 145BHP.
Thoughts? I think i preferred the older black 16" rims to the new 18".
Also, has anyone else had problems with door locking? Passenger side door sometimes doesn't even open at all. Drivers side is the same, only works when i pop the plastic off the handle and use the key.
Pics of conversion below - let me know what you think.

Surely after declaring all that it would be cheaper to get insured on the real thing? So i bought a 2010 MK6 TSI 122 along with a full 'R' conversion kit. Bumpers, Skirts, DRLs ,Taillights and a custom exhaust. Remapped to 145BHP.

In 12/24 months' time, the R insurance might have been viable, but your car will always be worth LESS (to most people) for having all the bodywork mods than an un-modded version.
Good luck with the project, each to their own, but as others have said, probably not really a cost effective thing to do.
