mk6 Gti ed35 19" tyre sizes
Discussion
Hi,
I have a 2013 mk6 golf gti edition 35 on oem optional extra 19" wheels.
Front tyres will need replacing soon,
The size on at the moment is 235/35/19
Question is can i run 225/35/19 or a different size without rubbing the tyres or it affecting speedo etc.
I'm good with alot of things but tyre sizes really confuse me, the size difference has been considered because i can much better quality tyres for nearly the same price if i input 225/35/19 instead of 235/35/19
All inputs welcome,
Cheers

I can't imagine it would cause any rubbing issues but the speedo will not be correct. https://tiresize.com/comparison/

You're going down width so it won't rub... how would that work logically??
Only thing is that the overall profile of the wheel in the arch will look weird if you reduce the width as you're effectively having smaller sidewalls.
Unless you have lowered the car I would stick with the appropriate sized tyres or downgrade to the 18 inch alloys.
