Can anyone recommend a company in the West Yorkshire area that can carry out an inspection service on a 2 year old A6 avant 2.0 diesel, nearly fell off my chair when told its £496.50 by Audi Huddersfield.

Thanks.

Maybe worth call to another Audi dealer to price check? Used Audi Wakefield for last 5 years and happy with service.

Don't Audi also price match non Audi garages? I think my cousin has done it a few times on his A3. I know VW sort of do. I got VW to almost price match an oil service once for my R32. I got a quote from a Honda dealer for an oil service (same cousin is the service manager at a local dealer), phoned up VW gave them the quote and they agreed to price match. Until they realised it wasn't a 2ltr and then phoned back and said they couldn't 😂

Thanks for all the replies, i will try calling Wakefield for a quote but they (like Hudds) are also part of the Sytner group so would expect the same price.

I have also tried to contact non Audi companies for quotations but i do need the service (when its been carried out) logging on the Audi service database which some non-Audi companies do not seem able to.

Mr. Captain is spot on with the price match:
https://m.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-with-au...

Am sure there are indies within 15 miles of Hudds or Wakefield who would quote and allow you to get price match:

Mr-captain:
After a few phone calls getting quotes Hudds have now price matched them and dropped to £278.98 which although still steep is far better than the original quote so hence have now booked the service.

Great result, good for you.
When car is 3 years old could, if you wish, drop onto the fixed price Audi menu:
https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-maint...
Or continue price matching.
If you decide to extend Audi warranty past the 3 years is worth noting needs Audi dealer servicing to maintain the extended warranty.

How many miles has it done? My car just become due for an inspection service at two years old. It had an oil service in December at near on £300. No way was a paying another £200 or so for an inspection on top 3 months later as its only done 8500 miles. On being pressed further the service department admitted it was only a pollen filter due which they wanted £32.50 plus fitting. I bought one from ECP for £12 and fitted myself.

Cupramax: The car has done 17000 miles and had its oil service last April, when you replaced your own pollen filter how did you reset the dash service reminder? i know the oil service reminder can be reset using the MMI but cannot find any setting regarding the inspection service.

I must admit i hadn't realised when i bought the car that Audi had split their service schedule into two separate types so they get to charge you twice as often as other brands.

I have a copy of Vagcom to reset the inspection service warning, i'd rather pay for that than give it to Audi. At least it will no doubt be of use at some point in the future...

I hate VAG's servicing regimes! The Inspection service is such a scam - it apparently ceases to exist once the car is 3yrs old, and they can go onto the alternating minor / major services. Except they don't do all the major service work at each major service. Arrrgh!!!!

Sounds like a good result with the price match IMO, definitely wise to get it serviced with Audi when it's so new to protect the residual value

Yes, mine was inspect things and replace pollen filter, except i had a receipt from the oil service 3 months ago saying they'd given it a free inspection, that kind of killed their argument. Its a money making excercise.

Just tell them to do the pollen filter at the same time and to reset both lights?
The inspection day counter is supposed to be used for brake fluid changes too. I wholeheartedly agree the inspection with nothing changed but you still pay a fortune for is a complete non requirement.

What's with this Inspection service only ? My VW engined SEAT 2Lt used to get a minor/inspection service for £180, and inspection/major service for £250, both at 18.5K mileage intervals, from main dealer at Kendal SEAT.

Don't think I'd ever buy an AUDI, at an age that would require me to need a dealer interface, so many horror stories on here, mainly to do with mega service/repair costs....my god they are all the same as SEAT/SKODA/ VW's !!!!
