Scirocco Replacement

Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering what the general consensus is for a Scirocco replacement?

All I've heard is that there won't be one. However, I don't see why it would be too difficult for VW to create something based on the Mk7 Golf platform, maybe no cooking spec models only the GTI or R. A Clubsport S Scirocco would be awesome!!

I think it should happen, however, I have rather limited hope.

What does everyone think?

There will be no direct replacements for the MK3 Scirocco. The closest will be SUV Coupe based around the Tiguan.

Niche is no longer a VW thing especially while they can't help but sell Golfs.

I've also heard they probably won't be doing one. Shame as I really like the current shape and would've jumped at the opportunity to get a more modern version on MQB underpinnings. Guess the Leon SC or TT are going to be the closest alternatives but the former is lacking slightly in building quality and latter too expensive :/
