Anybody on here had any experience of "chipping" this model. I have spoken to one company who are suggesting a plug in box that offers more power and torque and has the advantage of being very easily removed so the car can be reverted back to normal. My wife is very anti so some reassurance is needed. Thanks in advance.

I personally wouldn't chance it. Yes the Gen3 EA888 engine can make a ton more power and torque, but if you blow the engine/turbo, you'll be left with a big bill as well as the monthly payments.

If you've bought it outright, knock yourself out, they respond really well to modifications!

I've got a Cupra 280 with the EA888 engine IS38 turbo been running Stage 2 (Circa 400ps) for over 2 years as a daily car no issues at all.
