Faulty Oil Level ?

Ive got a 2001 petrol 2.0 NA A4. Engine ALT Recently it started to tell me that its low on oil, the orange warning pops up on the DIS.
I check the oil several times a week because I drive 1200 a month but as soon as I remove/replace the dipstick and remove/replace the oil cap and restart the car it goes off for about 50 miles then comes on again.

Oil level is fine as showing on the dipstick.

Is there a sensor somewhere that is easy to replace to stop these false warnings please?

Its nothing to do with removing the dipstick or the oil cap. When you open and close the bonnet the car realises this and "assumes" you have topped it up. So it doesn't recheck it for a while.

Problem is most likely the sensor in the sump.
