Just a quick heads up for anyone unaware or if you have your car serviced outside of the dealer network there is currently a recall regarding the coolant expansion tank which I'm sure some of you already know are prone to leaking.
It applies to both V8 and V10 models though i am not 100% certain which year cars are affected.

Worth giving your local dealer a call to see if your car is affected, mines going in tomorrow.

AFAIK it's all gen 1's that are affected. Mine is booked in for next month.

Is this the issue that leads to the engine being removed or is that the ac condensers?

That's when the aircon compressor fails.

I'm going to get mine booked in soon too. Think I need to do the brake fluid so they'll get some money out of me anyway.

Mine was in for a service the end of January with a full health check with only a couple of minor issues which needed fixing. They said they will give it another full health check f.o.c while the recall work is being done so I'm guessing they will find something to try and relieve me of a months wages despite the car only doing around 1200 miles since it was last in there!!

My expansion tank split and had to be replaced at the beginning of this year so this recall has come 6 months too late for me in that respect. I mentioned this to the dealer when booking it in for the recall and they said that the job involves putting some sort of cage around the tank to reinforce it and that if they had found the tank to be leaking I would have had to pay for a new one anyway.
