DUH - where does this cable connect - VW Beetle?

Hi guys - hope you can solve this prob for me, - I've got a 00283 fault code:-
ie. I'm not getting a 'Wheel speed signal' from Left Front wheel, thus giving me the dashboard warning light.
I've stripped caliper from disc but cant see anywhere to connect this cable to, or where this wire has broken off - HELP?
Could I just connect the 2 wires together to eliminate the code and light?
