Another 1.4 TwinCharger failure
Discussion
Hey there! This is my first post! Sorry for any language mistakes, I am not a native speaker.
As you all know CAVD is the 1.4L 160hp engine usually found in VW Scirocco etc
There are numerous problems with it, but the main I think is the pistons failures.
A simple google search will demonstrate the problem

I have a VW Scirocco 1.4L 160hp, full stock. At 20K km the cylinder No.1 lost pressure. All four pistons were changed with OEM pistons (piston code was revised twice by VW) and some work was done on the cylinder head. No cylinder damage, neither ovalness or crankshaft bearings out of specs
At 60K km the cylinder No.1 again lost pressure with greater damage this time.
I don't know what to do. I can't find the root of the problem. The engine has knock sensors, I use premium gasoline, injectors are clean(in some SEATs were faulty) and working properly. Any ideas?
Can you identify the cause of the failure from the photos?

Do you think that the pistons are just too weak? They are made from cast aluminum and they are not forged.
I was thinking about the EGR, hot exhaust gases into the chamber could create knocking.
Also because of the Direct Injection, intake ports can get really filthy and build alot of carbon...
It seems like there is contact between the pistonhead and the cylinder head. No hard downshifts here, the car is DSG equipped

Don't know much about these engines (although my Son has a Golf 1.4 tsi but the basic turbo only model, not the twin charge version) but that piston has melted. Seen similar on Motorbikes when running too lean & hot, usually with high compression engines and ignition too advanced?
Looks like it maybe tuned beyond a 'safe' limit or, as you suggest the pistons are a bit crap?...
