My front pads are 75% worn and the discs probably need changing some time soon. Audi want to charge a mortgage to replace them. Anyone got any ideas where to source them cheaper?

Also, my fuel cap "rubber strap" broke and of course I eventually left it on a petrol pump. Where do I get a new one?

Much appreciated everyone

You can sometimes source the discs a small amount cheaper but Audi discs are your only option. I believe Euro car parts were stocking them but haven't needed to order any in a while. Plenty of choice around for pads.

JHM in the US make replacement rotors (re-using your standard bell) that were working out cheaper than new discs over here but with shipping on top and the rubbish exchange rate that saving is likely gone.

The fuel cap comes with the little rubber cord, you can order directly from TPS.

Try vagbremtechnic for aftermarket AP options on the discs - they're on facebook etc. Won't be cheap, but you'll only need the bells once and it'll be cheaper next time.

Other option is to buy Phaeton plain discs but you need to swap your existing bells onto them

Not a cheap job clearly.

Would commit me to the car for a long time. I've only done 20k miles in 5 years!
