I'm thinking of an Audi 2 litre A3TFSi Quattro Auto. (to replace a 2013 Merc B class 180diesel...I no longer do the work miles to justify a diesel) & fell out with Daimler over failed shock absorbers after 35k miles!
I now fancy something a bit smaller/quicker etc I had an A4 2.8 Quattro Avant back in the day (where are you P52FPM?) and it was a great car. Drove it hard for 125000 miles without a single problem in 3 years.
Some horror stories (what else!) on this page about oil consumption etc on older FSI models, but does anyone have a view on 2015/6 onwards 180 bhp cars?

I had a S-line sportback, it did use a wee bit of oil but only needed a bit of a top up every few thousand miles. Ride was a bit on the harsh side, handling was a little dull but grip was good.

Why not buy late model Golf Mk6 R.
Much nicer.

I've got a 2015 ea888 gen 3 2.0tfsi (230bhp) and I had to top up with oil after around 8k. I had to add around half to three quarters of a litre.

Asked around and it's pretty 'normal' to be honest.

The late stuff like that uses very little oil unless driven really hard.

My last S3 (2013) I put ~5k miles on and one full track day. It needed about half a litre of oil when it went (well before light came on).
