Hello all

New to Audi with a V6 S5, and looking for a decent indie in the SW London area. Any recommendations?

thanks

How long have you been using them, and what do you like about them?

I've been a customer for more than 13 years, having them service my RS2 and RS4, and MOT all of my cars.

What I like about them:
  • Proprietor is a time-served main dealer master technician (Audi and Saab).
  • They are proper old-school engineers who will endeavour to identify the root cause of a problem and fix that as opposed to the fashion of replacing parts until the problem disappears. This often involves them developing their own much more cost effective solution rather than replacing whole assemblies.
  • Reasonable hourly charges and a willingness to identify cost effective solutions.
  • Happy to take on pretty much anything, from carb'ed classics to the latest Lamborghini.
  • Friendly and approachable; always happy to chat about a job; pragmatic and no-nonsense approach.
Don't expect a marble palace and swanky coffee machines though. winkhehe

I've always been very impressed when using Tutts of Dorking. Usually for routine servicing on my VW Corrados. A family business, friendly and reliable.

Only seen a few good reviews, never used them, but they are a REVO dealer and was looking at them for a remap.

thumbup Please do.

I think I've been through this year's MOTs on all of my fleet so they're sick of the sight of me. winkhehe

Jeremy with the Blue RS4, orange Lamborghini, green Lotus Elan, yellow Caterham and silver Defender should narrow it down for them. wink

They've seen them all recently ...

Went down there today as there is a rattle from the back of my R8 & am assuming a loose heat shield or similar, was disappointed that they have a receptionist who said the car would need to be booked in to be seen next week. The sorts of places I took my Porsches & Maserati would have had a quick look or at least have me speak to a tech there & then to give an opinion on likely cause & likely cost to fix, that's what I'm used to. There were all sorts of mundane cars in there too which I don't really see as a good sign.

I'm not in any way saying they aren't competent, reasonable, truthful, honest, fair etc, but I much prefer a garage where they only have techs working there so I can build up rapport with them and learn about my cars. The Phirm hits this in spades with TIm the owner being more than happy to speak at length about the cars, look things over without charging etc.

AmD in Woking are great Simon and Greame are fantastic and look after a number of RS and S Audis. Greame is a old school mechanic with years of experince with Audis, wouldn't trust anyone else with my car.
