Enquiring for a family member, wishes to remap his 2.0 TDI 140 up to 170+.

From experience do people recommend a downloadable map such as bluefin for these or a custom map from a reputable company?

If the latter, then I have a place in mind where I took my R32. Just after a bit of advice as I am not overly familiar with these TDI engines and what is best.

Thanks

Ive read mixed reports about Bluefin, some love its simplicity and others say the map is way too conservative. I suppose they have to cover themselves by making the map safe though.
Ive read nothing but good reports about revo and also shark performance. Shark i believe do a similar product to bluefin but its a lot more expensive, but well worth a look if simplicity is what your after.

Thanks. Ironically I've heard bad things about Revo but I guess it's always going to be mixed reviews with these plug and play type maps. Just had a look at all three, results below... so they all seem pretty similar.

Bluefin - 140bhp & 316nm > 174bhp & 385nm - £399
Revo - 140bhp & 316nm > 166-170bhp & 381-389nm - £399
Shark - 140bhp & 316nm > 175bhp & 420nm - £399

Thanks, but a bit too far North for me as I'm down on the south coast. The place I've used that I was considering again is Stealth Racing in Southam.

Yeah that's along the lines of what I've heard/read about Revo, overly aggressive maps and some overfuelling which was putting me off but the reviews do seem mixed.
Good to know you are pleased with yours perhaps I'll get in touch with JKM as they are very local. Was it similar cost to what I've quoted above? Has your MPG changed at all?
