I have been dealing with this for nearly a year now, Volkswagen have basically said they have no idea and Im about to take it to my local garage for a service and MOT and il ask them to have a look into this issue too.

It does this strange idle intermittently and the whole car shakes violently, it only does it when its hot after a long drive and as soon as i turn the Air Con ON it stops instantly (puts load on the engine?). Some people say fuel pump failure, some say EGR Valve... But nothing shows on a scanner.

It seems to me like the engine is stalling and then it ups the revs to stop itself?

Love my little car as its my first, and love VAG cars in general. But i am really stuck here. Still owe money on it and its lost a lot of its value over the past year ...ahem dieselgate..!

The car is a 2011 Polo 1.6 TDI, Please note the video is not mine however this is somebody with the exact same car as me having the exact same issue. Both of us have no idea, and i know of more people with the same issue (specific to Polo TDI?).

Thanks for any Help

Thank You, that looks quite interesting. I Will bring it up with VW when it goes in for its service next week. This issue affecting the Polo CAYB engines appears to stop when the AC is on however, so opposite to this issue with the CAYC engine. I do suspect it’s something to do with the fueling system.
