Well, I particularly liked the fact that the infotainment was semi-working and he used the excuse of "weak battery" and "poor phone connection" (when using in-built maps).

Poor.

The dash, with the painted areas is gaudy in the extreme. And the exterior designers, like with the Mini, forgot to stop.

Will these be likely to go on sale early next year then? I'm hoping for some decent lease deals for a DSG model with sat-nav, if you don't already get the latter as standard, that is.

It could potentially persuade me to stick to leasing, as apposed to buying a cheap car next year. However, i'm very much on the fence with it. The Fiesta ST doesn't do much for me.

I was told by local VW main dealer that UK order books open Jan.

Works for me, providing there are no severe delays, as my current lease goes back end of April.

DSG with sat-nav and that'll do me, i reckon.
