I took the plunge, I changed my A6 and bought a newer one. A 2014 3.0 TDI quattro 245 saloon.

Now I have a few questions, is there a way that I can find out the original build sheet for the car ? what options were fitted and the original price paid ?

And Ive heard a lot about the tuning for this car, my concerns would be if the mechanics of the car would be up to the upgrade, ive been told that car can be tuned to around 300hp just by a software change.

I take it that sort of upgrade would totally change the car in terms of mid range grunt

3.0TDI does indeed like a map, they feel pretty urgent when tuned.

S-Tronic boxes in those need an oil change every 40k miles. If you're planning on putting dramatically more torque through it I'd double that frequency.

Email me the chassis number and I'll reply with build sheet and brochure so you can cross check option codes/prices (RRP). The only way to know exactly what was paid is with the original invoice. A6s generally good a good discount when new (and 90% were leased anyway).

ill wait till I get the car and get hold of the chassis number.

Ive since heard more about the remap and it is interesting. and the gearbox seems to take it well, the 4wd also lessens the stress on the car too by all accounts.

The options codes are usually on a sticker in the boot, with the spare wheel.

Decode them here:
