Coolant light

Hi all -

I've just had the coolant light come on for the second time in a couple of weeks on my 2014 Golf R despite topping the reservoir up.

Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can check before I take it to the garage?

If you topped it up and light is back on you have a leak. You can do a visual inspection yourself but unless you are planning on fixing it yourself just take it the garage. It will either be obvious or they will have to pressure test it.

Either way I wouldn't worry too much. Hopefully just a split hose, at worse water pump or radiator but you wont be faced with a huge bill.

Thanks for the reply - on first inspection it looks as if it needs a new radiator, not quite a simple fix but could have been worse!
