A5 Maintenance package or Pay as you go?
Discussion
Hello,
Long time lurker here, I'm about to get my first lease vehicle.
The lease company is suggesting that I take out a service plan at around £22 a month.
I'm told it's a special offer, covering, car service, tyres, and MOT etc.
However the deal is only 3 x 23 at 8K a year.
The car is not going to get hammered, and in all probability will not cover 16K by end of year 2.
So effectively thats about £530 over the plan; when all I'm gonna get is an oil change at year 1?
Reason I ask, is that Ive just called Audi Oxford who were not that helpful, and said look at the Audi web site...
Ive checked it and from what I can see, its an oil change at £164, after a year.
Im thinking just pay as I go along. I doubt it will even need new tyres by the end of my term.
Any differing views?
cheers

1. MOT it's less than 3yo, pointless.
2. Std servicing will be cheaper, does it cover if you want it serviced every 6 months?
3. Tyres, 16k depends on how you drive, does it cover damage etc (e.g. you get a puncture or some prick slashes them etc) Set of tyres will be more than the £530.

Doesn't say, don't get to see the small print until after I agree...2. Std servicing will be cheaper, does it cover if you want it serviced every 6 months?

I would imagine that all it covers is standard to what Audi would do, i.e. service once a year or every 19 miles. TBH it's not gonna get much wear and tear.
In fact I've just spoken to my local dealer again, and although the guy wasn't that knowledgeable; he did think it was more expensive in my circumstances to take the package. His opinion was it would only get an interim in the time scale at £167. So car will be ordered minus the maintenance
cheers for your input
