K04-064 from the S3/Edition 30 with a flange adapter. Can't see the point in messing with Saab parts when the KO4 TFSI turbo can make 350 all day long.
I agree. Here is a brand new hybrid for under a grand:

360bhp easy.

I'd do k04 from an 8L s3 and be done with a stage 1 and pray rods don't break :-)

It was fairly obvious, this guy wants to get too 250BHP in his APU 1.8T, he's asking what turbo to use on the build.

If we cannot adhere to basic standards of language - and in turn expect to be taken seriously - there really is no point. Take your own advice. Go be a t

Ummm, there is a point. You know full well what he was trying to say, but for some reason wanted to try and make yourself seem superior by commenting both off topic and in a negative way towards the OP.
If people speak in a different accent to you, do you tell them to speak properly?

Sometimes the point just sails too far above one's head, doesn't it? You know full well what he was trying to say, but for some reason wanted to try and make yourself seem superior by commenting both off topic and in a negative way towards the OP.

Ferdi, either be nice or p
s off. You are contributing NOTHING to the thread.
Luckily 1.8T are cheap these days to modify.
As long as injectors are healthy and running on good fuel (IE 99 octane) it should be pretty safe.
Check other things as they get old they fail, make sure fuel filter is new (often left for years), check fuel pump flow , go to a reputable tuner.
R-tech of Badger5 for the 1.8T stuff.

Yeah often overlooked.

I've done a lot of research into the 1.8T. This time last year I had a 1.8T AUM in a golf.

Sold it for a mk6 golf gti edition 35 (factory EA113 with K04) had fun. But it kept getting parking dents etc and it was too nice of a car.
Now I have a seat leon cupra R, BAM 225 so I'm back in a 1.8T .... Can't stay away

Jay, you're quite knowledgeable, without taking it to Revo or Amd or R-tech, is there any test I can do to see if a previous owner has got the cupra mapped or not?
Sorry to hijack OP's thread, he's a good chap anyway!

ETA; the golf was mapped by Revo and for 98ron too, it was excellent

The Mk6 ED35 is nice.
I also have a soft spot for a Leon Cupra R mk1. there is something about them, a tidily modified one looks very fresh even today.
Regarding the remap ... or not....
Dyno run should tell you pretty easily.
or if you have access to vcds you can use the measuring blocks to log boost / maf and see what you get.

It was a lovely car, shame if we had a driveway I probably would've kept it I also have a soft spot for a Leon Cupra R mk1. there is something about them, a tidily modified one looks very fresh even today.

I do have access to vcds, what can I check my figures against?

Do 4th gear from 1200rpm to redline.
I think measuring block 115 for actual / requested.
make sure you log in turbo mode if applicable.
I'm not sure what 1.8T boost to stock but not much.
You'll soon know if you are doing 20psi instead of 12 for example.
Fair point Psi wise, thanks very much chap, will investigate this weekend I think measuring block 115 for actual / requested.
