Golf R estate - Leaky Sunroof.
Discussion
Hi Folks,
Ive notice some drips from behind the rear view mirror after it's been raining. I've opened the sunroof to have a look (obviously when it's not raining
) - and I'm pretty sure it's the culprit - the little pop-up air spoiler thing at the front of the sunroof is pretty wet.
I'm going to get it booked in for the dealer to take a look - but assuming my diagnosis is correct, is there anything I can expect them to do? - can they replace the rubber round the outside of it?
I'm pretty fed up

VAG sunroofs are not fully watertight.
There are normally drain holes on the inside corners of the sunroof. These are probably blocked. It's a very common issue.
The rear ones normally exit inside the rear wheel arch and the front ones normally exit inside the door opening at the bottom of the windscreen pillars.

Thanks - I'll mention this to the dealer when I call tomorrow. There are normally drain holes on the inside corners of the sunroof. These are probably blocked. It's a very common issue.

Not knowing what year the op’s vehicle is,any idea whether this has been sorted on the facelifted R estate? There are normally drain holes on the inside corners of the sunroof. These are probably blocked. It's a very common issue.
