I have been looking on this forum for a few weeks now and wondered if I could ask some straight questions?
My daughter is thinking of buying a petrol Golf GTi, around 2014 vintage for a maximum price of £17,500.
The only other points on her "wish list" are manual, leather seats and colour black.
She would be buying through a dealer to get the benefit of a warranty and a little more peace of mind.
Any of you guys got any comments and/or advice on what to look for on these cars?
Thanks in advance.

£17.5k is a healthy budget you’ll easily get a nice one for that money. Go Performance pack if you can as increases the power to 230PS

Also look for cars from mid-2015 onwards as they got the newer MiB2 entertainment system along with standard fit Nav

Not much to report reliability wise with the Mk7 just yet

Great! Thanks for that. Always good to get first hand response.

Make sure you view the car dry as black shows every blemish which can’t be seen if it’s wet/raining.
Lovely when it’s clean and in good condition but looks terrible if not cared for.

Thanks for the advice. My daughter has a black car at the moment, as do I(!) and we know what you
mean about keeping clean and looking for blemishes.
