I know it’s a common fault on these and VW have just told me that mine has seized which is why the car is hard to start and not running properly. There quote is eye watering at £1515!

Has anyone had any luck in pushing for some money off? Car is 2010 and has done 65,000 miles so I know it’s far from new.

Also if no to the above, does anyone have a recommendation for a garage in the Wimbledon area that they have used? As I am sure anywhere is cheaper than VW!

Thanks!

I'm over in Richmond but use Mill Garage in Reading for my Polo bluemotion - it's a ballache getting there but they have courtesy cars for a fiver and are VAG specialists.

They were recommended on the Thames Valley forum and have to say I've found them excellent..knowledgeable on all things VW and well priced. I just had my turbo done in September

That's crazy! My EGR valve went on my 1.6 TDi Golf MK6, and the total bill was £600. That was a new EGR valve and cooler. This was four years ago, but even so. The work was done at a VW Indy.
