My S5 is just coming up to three years old and the age old problem of whether to extend the warranty or not is rearing its head. Previously I haven't bothered as the pricing was quite frankly rediculuos (£1200 for a year on a 3.2 A4 cabriolet) but I just speculatively ran a quote through

http://www.audi-extendedwarranty.co.uk

Which came back with the frankly astonishing figure of £383 for named component cover for 10k miles and £100 excess. Bargain

Anyone know if the named component cover includes the roof mechanism on cabriolets?

Great value currently.
Just had the renewal at year 6 go thru, all component, zero xs, and 15k miles.

£602

I’d bit mess about with named component, just go with all component for peace of mind.

It will be listed in the details of the policy. Policies vary between models so read the detail.

Helpfully the Audi website doesn't show the full policy details, just a list which doesn't mention cabriolet roofs, hence my question

Policy documents here.

https://www.insurewithaudi.co.uk/library/pdf/28475...

It says motors, switches and control units are covered. What else are you expecting to break?

Thanks, having had a faulty roof before, faulty switches and sensors is exactly what I'm expecting. Helpful of Audi to put the documents on a different website to the one were you get the policy hehe

Yes, typical smile

Beware that sensors may not count as "switches"...

I took the years 4+5 warranty from new on my B8 S4 - about £750 after discount, I think. Even if I don't keep it that long it should help resale.

Yeah, I've got an overload of things to go wrong with mine, DSG box which is my main worry, supercharger, roof. I'd usually keep it in my pocket but think I'll not take the risk this time, admittedly the cars never gone wrong yet.
