1.6 TDI DSG - issues?

just test drove a 2010 Golf with the DSG gearbox. On taking it out, I noticed that it was a little clunky / grabby when moving off. When cold the car almost felt like an engine mount / gearbox mount was broken.

After driving for a while, it felt smoother. Presumably as a result of the oils heating up.

Is this normal?

I recently drove a 2011 2.0 TDI DSG Golf and that was much smoother. I believe they have different gearboxes.
