I've ordered a Scirocco R on a cheap lease deal and I'm instantly thinking of warranty safe tuning options and I've been looking at a few tuning boxes, specifically the dtuk fsr+.

There seems to be little info out there about it with regards to the Scirocco R and tuning boxes. Does anyone have anything to add? Any experience or options I've not considered.

Cheers

I used a tuning box on a 2014 Audi S3 for the period of ownership of the car and was quite impressed with it. The company I used was TDi Tuning based in Chelmsford, Essex.

I know that's not a specific answer for a Scirocco R but I had no issues with the tuning box at all.

Unfortunately that engine is from the MK6 Golf R, Not the EAA8(mk7 golf r) so tuning box options are limited

DTUK are ste, But may well be only option

JB1/JB4 much better but only for EAA8 engine

You may well be able to map your car without VW knowing, I know full well it's detectable on the mk7,

But I owned a MK6 Golf R and had successfully claimed afew times on warranty with a revo stage 2 remap,

Worth asking

I wouldn't bother if I'm honest, I got my Rocco R when the cheap deals were going around this time last year and it really struggles to get the standard power down in anythng other than bone dry conditions.

The thought of even more wheel spin and understeer is not worth thinking about laugh

True, though I wonder if it will be worse that my old pirelli GTi mapped to 310bhp. That was ok, just had to gentle sometimes, I kind of enjoyed it, felt a bit wild.

Learn that the pedal isn't an on/off switch.

I've got 420ps through the front wheels and can put it down on road legal Michelin's

I was waiting for that comment laugh

The R won't come with michelins or a diff (Which your Cupra has) and having only ever owned FWD hot hatches I'm well aware of how to use the throttle. If you enjoy wheel spin in 3rd (At even 50% throttle sometimes) or 4th in anything other than perfect conditions then that's fine but for me it's just annoying.

In what gears and at what sort of speeds are you able to really exploit the power in yours?

2nd gear, been out for a drive this morning in it. I do have uprated engine mounts and michelins though.

I can do 3rd without much problem.
