I've had an A4 Allroad before (anodine but a good daily tool) and am thinking of getting another one as a used car to replace my VRS 230 which goes back in May. I have a small fleet of classics and would rather spend on those than having a new car.

I have a maximum of 10k to spend and am looking for a 2.0 diesel manual with heated leather (not bothered about any other kit).

What should I be concerned about? I suspect such a car is going to have a 'leggy' mileage at my price point so can anyone suggest what I should look out for risk wise?

I've heard that if it hasn't had a clutch and dual mass flywheel by 70k miles it's going to need one. Cam belt I am less concerned about as I would probabaly do that myself.

Any comments or advice appreciated.

Not sure I'd be spending £10k on anything diesel with the current climate. As you've already got a petrol vrs why not find a petrol allroad, they are about, just not as many as diseasals.

Diesel is still cheap and I intend to run it into the ground so I'm not bothered about re sale or residuals.
