We are looking for a family wagon and I was looking for an A4 s line for around £5000 but totally overlooked the exeo, which I understand is an A4 underneath?
You seem to be able to get a newer car for similar money, not bad looking either.
All be it a bit rarer.
Has anyone experience of both or the exeo?
I've had passats in the past which I have been happy with, just fancy a change.
Thanks.

It’s more than an A4 underneath. All they changed were the front and rear lights and the badging.

I'd go Exeo; it is an A4 in almost every regard but with newer, better engine tech.

The navigation in either is feeling a little dated now but a naughty nav disc from ebay (that I would not condone or recommend under any circumstances) improves matters greatly and a couple of gadgets from Dension will give you bluetooth audio and DAB for very little cash.

B7 A4 is a pretty well regarded model in terms of quality and durability but the Seat badge allows you to buy a younger car with less mechanical wear.

They also only used the dash from the A4 convertible so it has 3 central air vents rather than 2.

I've had both the A4 and an Exeo and really, from inside, you wouldn't know the difference between Seat and Audi.

Good luck

Seat retuned the spring and damper settings - the Exeo rides and handles far better than any equivalent A4 - I had both an A4 and an Exeo and in all areas the Exeo was the better car, factor in lower prices and an Exeo is a better bet than an A4 - unless the badge is important

Thanks all, sounds like the exeo is a decent car. I’m guessing it uses the common rail Diesel engine?

Can't seem to find a exeo with heated seats.

Were these a expensive option or did they even offer heated seats?

Thanks all.

The heated seats were part of the winter pack, and due to most being bought from stock or as company cars rather than as a factory order many don’t have it

Yes, the majority of Seats are bought "as they come".

just a quick question on this, and its perhaps a boring one, but would the A4 hold its value for longer, so depending on whether you are going to run it into the ground or keep for 3 years and it move on, you should consider the hidden cost of depreciation.

The A4 does hold its value better but as you say it wouldn't really bother me as I'd run it into the ground.

Thinking of an Exeo as a runabout/ dog car.
how big is the boot on the estate? will it get a pallet in for instance?

thinking dog box.
