I know I asked this, but I'm keen on knowing anyone that has had a remap or tuning box done. Id like to know what your opinions are and if it made a massive improvement or not.... is it worth having done or not ?

Massive? That's subjective. You'll certainly feel it but it isn't going to make the car RS6 quick. The V6 TDI already has quite a pleasing woosh of mid range torque, that feeling is magnified with a map on. They also in my experience feel a little more energetic at higher RPM where the standard car tails off.

If you want more performance (emphasis on 'you') and can accept some accelerated wear on other components then it is worth doing.

For those who have mapped cars in the past, know that there is a noticeable improvement in performance. Diesel turbo's get a massive slug of torque after a map, probably circa 25%+ improvement, which you would notice..

Go with someone reputable (Superchips, APR etc..) if you decide to do it, these types of maps are very common..

As already said by the Dr, increased performance means, brakes, tyres and fuel economy will suffer.. as you will love the new found performance!!

Did you end up going with a remap? If so what brand? Did you notice much difference?
I've got an A6 C7 3.0 TDI and I am considering getting a Superchip remap.
I've had one from Superchips on my Mondeo and I definitely noticed the difference. It's interesting because the map for the Audi has higher levels of gains, but puts the torque right up there to the limit of the box...so if you have any feedback, I'm all ears. 😁

I had a remap done at Lanark by one of the Scottish Audi guys, the remap is a shark remap and I noticed a big difference. The gearbox is fine.
