Hi all,

I’ve got a Q3 2.0 tfsi quattro s-tronic and it’s currently averaging 24.8mpg (with a steady right foot, 30mile commute a day with a little bit of stop start)

Do these figures sound about right? (I’m abit disappointed tbh...)

Also, would a remap improve these figures driving steady?
Alot of companies are claiming it goes from 178 to 260+ bhp, which sounds mad laugh

I'd say its a little bit low. Our A4 TFSi with multitronic would average 32mpg on a 15 mile run, although it was 12 years old and had covered 117k. The Leon Cupra I had was just under 30mpg during the summer and high 28's during the winter.

I would say that DSG is nowhere near as efficient as the figures claim and that in real life the manual is much better. The Q3 isn't exactly aerodynamic but i would expect it to be at least 28/30 as an average.

I’m thinking of remapping my tsi 2.0t. I’m kind of leaning towards the Bluefin type device that allows you to download the map via the OBD port and can be removed and reset to a standard map if required.

The custom mapping and download in shop ie REVO sort are all eggs in one basket and you are stuck with it.

Sounds quite low. I've got the 230PS version in my TT and it pretty comfortably averages 35 mpg overall, increasing to mid 40s on the motorway.

I have the 2.0l 230hp engine in my TT as well. Can't quite match va1o but get high 30's on a run and 32 average so yours sounds low. In theory remapping gives you more power for less throttle so improves economy. Not sure how accurate that is though and its a warranty no no if that's relevant.
