The dash temperature gauge has stopped working. Never moves from the far left during driving.

Where do I need to start looking for a fix?

Is it likely to be the actual display pod, a sensor somewhere or something else?

Thanks all.

Probably the Engine Coolant Sensor (ECT) sensor. Pretty common fault on VAG cars and a relatively cheap fix. Ot will be located in one of the coolant pipes between the block and the radiator.

Thanks.
I was hoping it would be a sensor. I’ll try that first and see if it does the job.

Changed the sensor.

Changed the thermostat.

Still nothing on the gauge.

Is the whole dash pod unit the next option?

Is there an OBD port on those? If so, check the sensor readings with Torque or similar on your phone. https://www.androidauthority.com/torque-app-androi...

You'll need an OBD to bluetooth dongle too.

I’m going to drop it in to a local Audi place. They can scan it.

Nothing is ever bloody simple.

Broken a driveshaft this week too - dangerous wobble on drivers side.
